There’s a particular energy to the gallery in summer. The doors are open to King’s Parade, the light pours in off the street, and the walls are filled corner to corner with new work from across our roster of artists. Our Mixed Summer Exhibition 2026 is on now and runs until 6 September, and it remains one of the most varied and rewarding shows we stage all year.
The joy of our mixed summer exhibition is the sheer range on show. In a single visit you can move from the bold, expressive canvases of Beckie Reed and Luke Woodgate to the quiet, atmospheric landscapes of Mark Munroe-Preston, then on to the playful ceramics of Amelia Tuttiett and Adrift Pottery, the intricate mixed-media ‘letters’ of Alison Stockmarr, and the much-loved prints of Anita Klein.
Sculpture, pastel, oil, photography, jewellery and craft all sit side by side, spanning a huge range of styles and price points. It’s a show built to reward slow browsing, the kind where a piece you weren’t looking for stops you in your tracks. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or buying your very first original artwork, there’s a natural point of entry somewhere on these walls.
A single-artist exhibition asks you to fall for one particular voice. A mixed show does the opposite, it lets you wander, compare and discover what you’re actually drawn to. Seeing a vivid Stephanie Ho canvas beside a delicate Louise Davies etching, or a Fletcher Prentice floral next to a Richard Heeps photograph, quickly sharpens your own eye for what you’d want to live with.
It’s also the ideal moment to encounter artists new to you. Many of the makers in this year’s exhibition have a devoted following, but a summer show is often where a first-time visitor meets the name that becomes a long-term favourite.
One of the questions we’re asked most often is where to begin, and a mixed exhibition is the perfect answer. You’ll find plenty of pieces under £600, from Anita Klein prints and Emma Giacalone’s charming craftwork to Elaine King’s beautifully glazed ceramics, alongside significant statement works from the likes of Naomi Munuo, Gerdine Duijsens and Christopher Thompson.

Nothing quite compares to seeing a piece in the flesh, the texture of the paint, the true scale of a canvas, the weight of a ceramic in the hand. Photographs are a starting point, but a work reveals itself properly only in person. We’d love to welcome you to the gallery at 14 King’s Parade, directly opposite King’s College Chapel, any time before 6 September.
