Artist Talk: Fletcher Prentice Thursday 27th April 6.30pm
Summer Garden Border

A collection of Byard’s artists transform our independent, contemporary gallery space into a beautiful haven of English country gardens. These delightful observations will intrigue and enchant both art lovers and nature enthusiasts.

Exhibiting artist, Fletcher Prentice who is showcasing his latest collection of paintings in this exhibition will be in the gallery to talk about his practice and his inspiration at 6.30pm. The gallery will be open 6 – 7.30pm to enjoy the exhibition.

Fletcher’s work is a celebration of the natural world, but also a celebration of paint itself. Paint is fascinating through its textures, colours, its freedom, and looseness. His work explores the ‘object’ of paint as much as it explores the ‘subject’ of nature. Working from his studio in Hertfordshire, Fletcher is often drawn to the more domestic beauty of the birds and plants in his own rural garden to create joyful paintings that are teaming with life or beautifully observed single blooms reminiscent of the old Dutch masters.

We would be delighted if you would like to join us for a glass of Prosecco whilst you view our Festival of Flowers exhibition and enjoy an evening in conversation with Fletcher Prentice.

The talk commences at 6.30 pm.
