Our friendly experienced picture framing team at Byard Art on Kings’ Parade in Cambridge, formerly based at the Lawson Gallery, are ready to carefully frame or reframe your artwork.  We will take pride in treating your belongings with our utmost respect.  We are happy to offer advice and recommend bespoke frames to complement what you would like framed and what works best in your home.

Come and talk to us, our knowledgeable staff can show you an extensive range of samples of the highest quality frames and mounts for you to select from.  We are happy to help you with ideas, advice and options and will competitively price your bespoke picture framing project.  As all our framing is hand crafted, we can mount and frame the most challenging range of memorabilia.  Our picture framers, with over 25 years of experience, are in our fully equipped Cambridge workshop.  They are able to undertake most framing projects.

We have a parking permit for the loading bay outside Byard Art gallery.  This makes it easy to stop and deliver or collect your framed pieces and any other gallery purchases.  All artwork is secure and fully insured whilst in our care.

Technical Information

Frames and Mounts  – To protect your artwork here at Byard, all our framing is done to a recognised conservation standard using high quality materials which are acid free and non-ageing.  For particularly vulnerable pieces we can offer museum conservation framing using cotton core mountboard and Japanese hinging tapes.

Glass – We use 2mm float glass as standard, however, we can offer you a range of non-reflective and UV filter glass.  Look at our samples and discuss options with us, we are here to help.

Textiles – We can stretch and re-stretch canvases as well as frame textiles such as samplers, embroideries, tapestries and silks.  We can pin these delicate works to foam core board or lace them around acrylic, easing them into shape before putting into a frame of your choice.

Please do pop into the gallery for a chat for further information, or alternatively contact us here.
