Amelia Tuttiett is an artist and potter working from her farm studio in Hampshire, where she is inspired by the countryside views. Her interest in clay began in childhood. As a mature student, she studied Fine Art at the University of Chichester, which included ceramics. Her work is a blend of her original love for clay and her practice with oil paint. She teaches weekly ceramic classes, sharing her knowledge and passion.

Although she studied Fine Art at university, Amelia Tuttiett swiftly returned to her original love for clay and has been working with both clay and oil paint ever since. She draws inspiration from walking and riding in the Hampshire countryside, finding the daily rituals of visiting birds and the constant change of the seasons a never-ending source of delight. This quiet observation informs her practice.
Style & Technique
Tuttiett’s work, which includes ceramics and oil paintings, aims to convey a sense of joy, often drawing inspiration from a wry observation of the ordinary. Nature is a prominent theme, as she portrays woodland creatures and birds with a whimsical quality.
