Standing Tall – ten artists inspired by trees

25 Mar 2015 Exhibitions

Independent contemporary art gallery Byard Art's current exhibition Standing Tall is dedicated to celebrating the majestic tree and wonderful English woodlands.

Forests, woodlands and trees provide ample inspiration to ten of our gallery artists; hardly suprising considering their longevity and significance, trees have always been revered and a subject enjoyed by many artists throughout history.

From beautifully executed large scale photographs to blossom trees with a sprinkling of sparke, each artist offers a unique interpretation of a much love subject. Artists on display include David Anthony Hall, Jack Frame, Claudio Missagio, Alex Prunes, Garry Raymond Pereira, Beckie Reed and Vanessa Whitehouse.

Also featured are sculptures by young Danish contemporary artist Christian Noah Moller from Copenhagen. He has exhibited his original and distinctive work in Berlin, Copenhagen, Prague, Paris, Stockholm and St Petersburg. He makes his debut in Cambridge this week after being very well received at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea earlier this month.

His intricate trees are handmade in metal and throw beautiful shadows behind them.

We also have a mixed exhibition in our downstairs gallery space and upstairs we have three cabinets of contemporary handmade jewelry and a fresh collection of greeting cards.
