Exhibiting artist, Fletcher Prentice who is showcasing his latest collection of paintings in this exhibition will be in the gallery on Thursday 27th April to talk about his practice and his inspiration at 6.30pm.
Fletcher’s work is a celebration of the natural world, but also a celebration of paint itself. Paint is fascinating through its textures, colours, its freedom, and looseness. His work explores the ‘object’ of paint as much as it explores the ‘subject’ of nature. Working from his studio in Hertfordshire, Fletcher is often drawn to the more domestic beauty of the birds and plants in his own rural garden to create joyful paintings that are teaming with life or beautifully observed single blooms reminiscent of the old Dutch masters.
To celebrate the height of Spring, A Festival of Flowers shows off some of the most beautiful sights nature has to offer. Our exhibition features a number of returning artists and some newcomers to Byard. This bright exhibition is a joyous expression of the relationship between art and nature, and we are excited to invite you to enjoy it!
