The short version

What works in this space

01

Scale that holds the room

Receptions and boardrooms need one confident statement, not many small pieces. Large canvases, textile wall panels and light works read clearly from a distance and give visitors an immediate sense of the company. As a rule, go one size larger than feels safe.

02

Calm where people focus

In open-plan and meeting areas, abstract and landscape works in muted palettes lower the visual temperature without becoming wallpaper. Original pieces reward the second and the hundredth look in a way posters never do — and they say something about how you work.

03

Texture, not just print

Ceramics, glass and dimensional wall pieces bring craft and warmth to corridors, breakout spaces and shelving. They photograph beautifully when clients tour the space — and they are reliably the pieces people ask about.

Artists to know

Wetlands I,(II_II), Byard

Charlotte Cornish

One of Cambridge’s leading abstract painters, celebrated for vibrant, energetic canvases. A graduate of Brighton, the Slade and Central St Martins, she builds each painting through poured layers of acrylic, exploring the possibilities of colour and the connections it creates. Rich, joyful work that makes a confident statement in boardrooms and reception spaces.

Mark Munroe-Preston

Mark Munroe-Preston is a photographic and digital artist whose work blurs the boundaries between photography, abstraction, and digital painting. Drawing on decades of experience in image-making, Mark transforms his own landscape photography into dreamlike visual compositions that evoke memory, mood, and atmosphere.

Rise High Cambridge

Ewan David Eason

Ewan turns maps into abstract art. His best-known series, Mappa Mundi, takes its cue from Charles Booth's 19th-century maps of London, stripping away words and symbols until blocks of colour become images in their own right. Worked in UV-treated ink on metallic dibond, including brushed gold, his city pieces give receptions and boardrooms a striking, rooted sense of place.

Sally Burch _ Blue Moon 83 x 63 x 3cm

Sally Burch

An abstract painter and printmaker with a degree in Contemporary Fine Art from Central St Martins. Drawing on landscapes and natural phenomena she has experienced first-hand, Sally blends fine art training with a graphic designer’s eye for composition — fresh, balanced work ideal for modern office interiors and considered corporate settings.

Before anything goes on a wall

Practical notes

Hanging and placement

Hang artwork with its centre at 145–152 cm from the floor, standing eye level. In seated areas such as meeting rooms and waiting spaces, drop this by 10–15 cm so the work meets the eye where people actually are.

Over furniture, aim for a piece (or grouping) roughly two-thirds the width of what sits beneath it, with 15–25 cm of breathing room above sofas and credenzas. Keep works on paper out of direct sunlight, and in bright, glass-walled offices favour pieces already glazed with anti-glare or UV-filtering glass – we will flag which ones suit.

Living with the collection

Our team carries out secure installation, from single pieces to full floors, and advises on placement, fixings and lighting before anything goes on a wall.

Collections can rotate between sites as your spaces change, and we provide documentation for insurance and valuation. Worldwide shipping is arranged by the gallery, wrapped and delivered with care.
