Artwork Perfect For Hotels

Guests remember how a hotel made them feel, and original art for hotels does much of that work — in the lobby, along corridors and in the rooms themselves. Byard Art curates paintings, prints, ceramics and sculpture for hotels from over 100 contemporary UK artists, with installation, delivery and interest-free Own Art finance handled by our Cambridge gallery. Ask for a tailored proposal within 2–5 working days.

The short version

What works in this space

01

A lobby that lands

First impressions are set in the first ten steps. One large original — canvas, textile panel or light work — above the desk or facing the entrance gives arriving guests an immediate sense of the hotel’s character.

02

Series that carry through

Corridors, stairwells and bedroom floors reward cohesion. Works by a single artist, or a series in a shared palette, turn circulation space into part of the experience rather than a gap between rooms.

03

Character guests photograph

Ceramics, sculpture and dimensional wall pieces give lounges and landings the texture guests notice — and share. Original work signals care in a way framed stock photography never will.

Artists to know

Beckie Reed Artwork

Beckie Reed

An Ely-based painter with a first-class degree in Fine Art Painting from Loughborough, Beckie has shown at the RA Summer Exhibition and at art fairs from New York to Hong Kong. Working in layered acrylic, she paints woodland and treescapes, dribbling trunks and branches in a high-gloss medium that balances control with spontaneity. Large, atmospheric canvases that settle lounges, bars and reception areas.

Byard Art, Chris Wood, Against the tide, Dichoric Glass on Alluminium, 2021, 100 x 100

Chris Wood

A light artist whose canvas is glass. After studying at the Royal College of Art, she began working with optically coated dichroic glass, originally developed by NASA, arranging it with precision so it casts shifting reflections of colour across the wall. Her installations feature in collections and brand commissions worldwide. Luminous, ever-changing work that gives a hotel lobby its first impression.

Travelator II

Laura Jordan

A London printmaker who studied Graphic Design and Editorial Illustration at London College of Communication, Laura creates densely detailed panoramas of the world's cities, packed with humorous vignettes and sly social commentary. Small pen-and-ink drawings are scanned and woven digitally into large limited editions, often hand-finished with pencil, watercolour and collage.

Carol Peace

A figurative sculptor who trained at Winchester School of Art and spent a year at the Royal Drawing School, Carol models her figures in clay before casting them in bronze and bronze resin, keeping every fluid mark of the making. Her work is collected internationally, with large-scale pieces at Glyndebourne. Expressive pieces that give landings and lounges the texture guests remember.

Practical notes

Hanging and placement

Hang artwork with its centre at 145–152 cm — standing eye level — and 10–15 cm lower in seated lounges and dining areas. Over consoles and sofas, keep pieces roughly two-thirds the width of the furniture beneath.

For corridors and guest rooms we recommend security fixings and, in bright or south-facing spaces, choosing works glazed with anti-glare or UV-filtering glass — we will flag which pieces suit.

Living with the collection

Installation is carried out by our team, floor by floor, with security fixings where guest areas need them — working around occupancy and refurbishment schedules.

Collections can rotate between properties or public areas as seasons and interiors change, and we provide documentation for insurance and valuation. Worldwide shipping is arranged by the gallery.
