Biography

Vicky came upon ceramic sculpture rather late in life having had a totally unrelated professional background in the NHS. She has very much enjoyed attending courses run by outstanding professional sculptors such as Brendan Hesmondhalgh, Annie Peaker, Lorri Aucott, Beth Cavener Sticher and Paul Priest. Vicky is fascinated by hares and many other wild animals she has seen both in her Cumbrian countryside and on safaris while working in Tanzania. Her work is mainly animal and bird sculptures, although she has recently embarked on some figurative work with an African theme. Vicky usually works in stoneware so the sculptures can be safely left outside. She decorates her work with oxides and underglazes and occasionally gold leaf. All Vicky pieces are individually made and unique.
