Tom Hughes

Tom Hughes paints his subjects from life, exposing himself to the elements to be better “connected” to it. His work aims to explore truth and beauty in everything around us, and he states “I do not wish to edit, modify, or sweeten a scene, preferring to give it to you raw and undressed.” He has recently showcased work through galleries and exhibitions across the UK including, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Bath Society of Artists and Royal West of England Academy. He has received awards for the Bristol Fine Art Prize and Lynn Painter Stainers Prize. He has featured in publications including, Plein Air magazine, Leisure Painter and Clifton Matters.
