Rob’s work is influenced by his training as an architect in Cambridge where he then ran a high tech consultancy advising on IT applications for construction including computer aided design systems. This led to a particular interest in the space between buildings and their relationship with landscape. The rules of perspective are stretched to encompass three, or even four sides, of a college court to show as much as can be seen from one point. Media used are fine waterproof ink pens with a watercolour wash. He has lived in Cambridge most of his life apart from periods in London, the USA and India. More recently he was appointed professor of IT in Building in Denmark and a visiting fellow in Finland. He has been retired for ten years and spends his time lecturing on Islamic architecture, travelling and painting.
