Lottie Farman is a designer-maker who grew up in Cambridge, studied in London and returned 20 years later with her family in tow to Newnham. She trained in 3D design specializing in silversmithing at Central St.Martins College of Art. In 1992 she opened her first workshop in Clerkenwell, the hub of the London Jewellery trade and became a selected member of the prestigious Crafts Council. Since then, she has sold her distinctive Jewellery through many of their galleries. Lottie’s beautiful pieces are chunky yet feminine. They are instantly recognizable by their strong organic forms embellished more often than not with distinctive ‘dot’ patterns, gold details and an array of precious and semi-precious stones. Bold rings are set with rich garnets and amethysts; cultivated pearls dangle timelessly from contemporary ear fittings; subtle flourites combine with tourmalines, peridots, topaz and chalcedony to form highly wearable and eye-catching necklaces and bracelets. Her more delicate ‘Cow-Parsley’ pieces combine silver and gold and are inspired by the foliage of nearby Grantchester Meadows.
