Biography

Laura is a designer/maker originally from Yorkshire working in her studio based in South London. Her work takes inspiration from often overlooked textures around us. Laura transforms these observations into elegant pieces of jewellery. She has a curious approach to design and she likes to explore different materials and processes.

Laura approach to design starts with research into a texture, material or process followed by sketching ideas, through to developing prototypes/models. The making narrative or process behind each piece can often inform the look of the item, this can be seen in the Root Range. This range is inspired by textures discovered within cabbage leaves. Focusing on the deeper relief patterns found in root vegetables and uniting natural and clean geometric lines. The Root Pendant, Root Studs and Root Hoops are all hand crafted using solid sterling silver, combining a textured organic surface.

She likes to design and make pieces that are contemporary, yet have the potential to become timeless. Laura hand makes all of her pieces to a high standard and creates pieces that are designed to last. The silver is of the highest quality, it is sourced from highly reputable UK based suppliers and she uses recycled silver where possible.

Laura is constantly developing her collection she works on commissions for private clients and creates bespoke wedding and engagement rings. She also works with other materials such as brass, solid gold and platinum.
