John Tordoff



John Tordoff is a self taught artist who initially trained as a professional actor. He claims any formal artistic training from various courses in life drawing, oil painting, watercolour and ceramics at the London City Lit and Morley College. In 2009 John and his partner moved from London to Cambridge, dividing his time between there and Italy. Since then, he has become an elected member of the Cambridge Drawing Society and participated in the Cambridge Open Studios event. In 2005 he hosted a solo exhibition at the Barbican Library, showcasing 18 large scale portraits of historical personalities based on contemporary images. John’s most recent body of work is constructed in collage and mixed media, with an aim to “create a dialogue between the layers, the one complimenting the other…”
