Jenny Wilson was born in 1971 and is a self-taught artist who has painted in oils since the age of twelve. She attended some evening gatherings focusing on painting with oils, together with her grandmother and mother in the small village in Sweden where she grew up. Now living in Leicestershire, Jenny has painted more seriously over the last 5 years and has had Worldwide success.
Nearly all her work is inspired by the ever-changing colours through the passing of the seasons in the local landscape along roads she travels every day. Jenny aims to capture the mood and light without focusing on details. All her paintings are done by pallet knife using oil paint, mainly on canvas. Jenny tends to be drawn by the dramatic colours created by angry, grey skies but also by the beautiful, captivating colour transformation of the evening light. The appreciation for the “everyday” and “the ordinary” leads Jenny to love the wonder and miracles brought by seasons and weather, in both landscape and sky and the abundance of various colours. Through her paintings, Jenny wants to frame these “ordinary miracles” and let people discover and enjoy what often would just pass them by.
