A young Isla grew up in Somerset dreaming about the tiara her Great Grandfather had handcrafted decades prior. Filigree, timelessly beautiful, and most importantly of all….adorned with juicy ‘Jelly Tots’. The sugar-coated sweets proudly sat where precious stones usually would. This treasured family story acts as her prevailing inspiration. Today, Isla designs her own precious pieces with delicious twists; playing on the tempting and indulgent nature of jewels and gemstones.
Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2018, Isla has been the recipient of many industry accolades. Such as ‘Best Design’, awarded by the designer Theo Fennell; a Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council Award as well as a Gem-A scholarship. In 2019, Isla was shortlisted for one of International Jewellery London’s Leading Lights Awards, where she exhibited as a Bright Young Gem.
Following this recognition, this year Isla has showcased her work at the 2020 Goldsmiths Jewellery Art Fair.
