Fiona Hutchinson
Fiona Hutchinson is based in Sussex and works from home overlooking the Sussex downs. She began learning silversmithing in 2004, studying under skilled jewellers such as Richard Collett and Jinks McGrath. Here, she developed a particular interest in gemstones. She is a fully qualified gemmologist and is an FGA at the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
Many of the pieces in Fiona’s jewellery collection are inspired by the artist’s love of food and cookery. Her popular peppercorn pieces were inspired by the artist’s trip to Sri Lanka, where she saw pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg trees growing. Her sourcing from the natural world gives her work an organic, ‘perfectly imperfect’ look.
