Elisabeth Lecourt is particularly known for her eye catching map dresses. She was born in France 1972 and currently lives and works in London. After studying Fine Art in France she moved to London to study at Kingston University and Central St. Martins, and achieved her Masters from the Royal College of Art in 2001. Since then, Elisabeth has enjoyed a successful career exhibiting her Map Dress Installations and Paintings worldwide. She has hosted solo shows in London, Paris, Amsterdam, Turin and Rotterdam and participated in major art fairs in China, America, Canada and across Europe. She works with antique maps to create her distinctive dress installations, whilst exploring themes of vulnerability and sensitivity. Her work has been featured in publications worldwide including; Marie Claire and Maison, Vogue Italy, Elle decoration, Grazia, The Times and Living. Etc. She was awarded travel scholarships to study in Finland and Barcelona, and received the BIDA Award for ‘Best Newcomer’ in 2004. Byard Art have represented her work in our gallery and through art fairs since 2002.
