Daphne Garritt trained at the Chesterfield College of Art graduating in 1979, and now works from her studio in Nottinghamshire. She works with translucent, hand-thrown porcelain, which is then decorated using fine inlay and finally biscuit fired. Her work is informed by recent trips to South West France taking inspiration from the hills, valleys and rivers of the Tarn et Garonne area. Her work is also inspired by the simplified yet strong patterns found in Art Deco. Daphne exhibits her ceramics across the UK and abroad in the USA.
