Claire Moynihan lives and works in Hertfordshire. She graduated in Applied Arts in 2008, and studied the ‘Common Clothes Moth’ at the Museum of Zoology in Cambridge as part of her degree. Research in this area and love of the natural world, led her to create her unique entomological collections of hand embroidered insects on felt balls. Her style of work is described as ‘freestyle’ form of 3D embroidery working with local alpaca wool. Claire has exhibited her work across the UK since 2008, supplying pieces to the likes of Paul Smith and Liberty, London. Her work has also been featured in numerous publications including; Bugs Britannica, The Telegraph and Design Inspired by Nature.
