Annabel Mednick trained at the Ecole des Arts in Brussels before graduating in Fine Art from Suffolk College in 2001. Her work explores contrasts between light, dark, exterior and interior scenes. She is particularly drawn to the way light “energises the stillness of a room” and aims to contemplate the lone figure within her scenes. Annabel’s work was ‘Commended’ at the BP Portrait Awards and she received ‘Second Prize’ at the Sternberg Awards. In 2001 she was commissioned to produce a portrait of a chair of governors for Suffolk College. Byard Art have represented her work since 2007, participating in both solo and group exhibitions at our gallery.
