Ali Tomlin is a Surrey-based artist who makes elegant porcelain ceramics. All her creations are individually wheel thrown. Most pieces are glazed only on the inside, the sanded exterior surface giving the whole object a soft, tactile finish. She tends to always leave part of the porcelain white, seeing it as a clean canvas to play with marks, lines and textures. Although her pots all appear fragile, their glazed interiors mean they can all be used.
